Browns' Wills to IR with MCL injury, will return this season
Cleveland Browns left tackle Jedrick Wills will be placed on injured reserve after suffering an MCL injury in Sunday's win over the Arizona Cardinals, head coach Kevin Stefanski announced Monday, according to ESPN's Jake Trotter.
Wills will be required to miss a minimum of four games but is expected to return this season. The veteran was carted off with an air cast on his right leg, leading to speculation that he was done for the rest of the campaign.
The 24-year-old also has a low-grade PCL sprain and bone bruises, sources told Tom Pelissero of NFL Network. Wills' return timeline is reportedly expected to be around six weeks.
James Hudson could be Wills' replacement moving forward. The Browns may also move right tackle Dawand Jones over to left tackle.
Cleveland is already down top right tackle Jack Conklin, who suffered a season-ending knee injury in the opener.
Wills has started 53 games - including all eight to begin this season - since being selected in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
