Crew unhurt after US navy jet misses runway and crashes into Hawaii bay

Nine people aboard escape injury after P-8A aircraft flying in rainy weather miscalculates and ends up in Kaneohe Bay

A navy plane flying in rainy weather overshot a runway on Monday at a military base in Hawaii and splashed into Kaneohe Bay - but all nine aboard were uninjured, authorities said.

The coast guard responded, but rescue attempts were quickly called off after all parties involved" emerged safely, a spokesperson for the military branch said.
