Geno Smith starts Thanksgiving game vs. 49ers despite elbow injury
Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith started Thursday night's game against the San Francisco 49ers.
Smith was listed as questionable for the matchup after suffering an elbow injury in Seattle's Week 11 loss to the Los Angeles Rams. He was a limited participant at Tuesday's practice but was a full participant on Wednesday.
The 33-year-old, who earned his first Pro Bowl berth last season, sustained the ailment late versus the Rams and missed multiple offensive drives. However, he was able to return for the Seahawks' final drive in the fourth quarter, which ended with Jason Myers missing a potential game-winning 55-yard field goal.
Smith has completed 65.3% of his passes for 2,404 yards and 12 touchdowns against seven interceptions across 10 starts in 2023. Drew Lock is Seattle's backup quarterback.
Meanwhile, running back Kenneth Walker is officially inactive due to an oblique injury. The Seahawks also made pass-rusher Frank Clark a healthy scratch versus San Francisco.
