Code:man iconv returns:Quote:

Code:iconv returns Quote:
iconv: failed to start conversion processing: No such file or directory
mplayer returns, Quote:
iconv: conversion from UTF-8 to ISO-8859-1 unsupported
, apparently every time it gets a UTF-8 character.

This started after today's upgrades.
v4l-utils-1.26.0-x86_64-1 , pipewire-1.0.0-x86_64-1.txz , and perl-5.38.1-x86_64-1 are the new packages. I doubt perl is involved. mplayer works otherwise. iconv hasn't changed.

It seems iconv is missing some support file(s) - perhaps deleted in an upgrade? Or is it just me? I find no missing dependencies.
