There's "zero" chance the Buffalo Bills will fire head coach Sean McDermott despite the club's struggles this season, sources told The Athletic's Tim Graham.

The Bills are in a rut, having lost four of their past six outings. Buffalo (6-6) is currently outside the playoff picture with under two months remaining in the regular season.

McDermott's seat became a bit hotter after he dismissed offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey earlier this month despite the team ranking inside the top 10 in points and yards per game. The Bills promoted Joe Brady to interim offensive coordinator.

Owner Terry Pegula has no desire to dismiss McDermott after the season, according to Graham. The owner reportedly holds McDermott in high regard and doesn't want to meddle with the chemistry his coach shares with general manager Brandon Beane.

Both McDermott and Beane signed extensions through 2027 this past June.

In his seventh season with the Bills, McDermott has posted a 68-41 record and boasts the highest winning percentage in franchise history after being hired in 2017. The Nebraska native is credited with helping the team halt its 17-year playoff drought in 2017.

Despite leading the Bills to playoff appearances in five of the past six seasons under McDermott and winning the AFC East crown in three consecutive years, criticism of the 49-year-old coach has only increased.

Buffalo is at risk of missing the postseason after making it to the AFC Championship Game during the 2020 season, followed by a pair of divisional-round appearances in the last two years.

The Bills will play the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 14 following their bye.
