Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones won't play in Sunday night's game against the Kansas City Chiefs due to a knee injury, the team announced Friday.

Jones missed the Thanksgiving win over the Detroit Lions after being hurt in Week 11 and has yet to return to practice.

The running back has been limited to just seven games this season. A hamstring injury also sidelined him earlier in the year.

Jones has struggled on the field, averaging just 35 rushing yards per game and 3.7 yards per carry. The veteran produced 65.9 yards per contest and averaged 5.3 yards per rush last season en route to a career-high 1,121 yards on the ground.

AJ Dillon will continue leading Green Bay's backfield in Jones' absence, while Patrick Taylor will be his backup. Dillon has also seen a decline in his efficiency this season, rushing for just 3.4 yards per carry.

The NFC North club has eight players listed as questionable, including leading receiver Jayden Reed (chest), cornerback Jaire Alexander (shoulder), and linebacker De'Vondre Campbell (neck). Alexander hasn't played since Nov. 5 and has missed six total games this season.

Meanwhile, cornerback Eric Stokes (hamstring) is doubtful.

The 5-6 Packers have won three of their last four games to get back into the NFC playoff hunt.
