Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones believes Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders has a strong case to be the No. 1 overall pick in the NFL draft.

Jones chatted with Sanders and his father, Colorado head coach and former Cowboys cornerback Deion Sanders, at AT&T Stadium before Dallas' win over the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday. During that conversation, the Cowboys' owner paid the 21-year-old signal-caller a big compliment.

"Very easily could be the top pick in the draft," Jones could be heard telling Shedeur in a video posted on the Well Off Media YouTube channel.

Deion told "The Dan Patrick Show" in November that he expects Shedeur and his older brother, Colorado safety Shilo Sanders, to return to the Buffaloes for another season and not enter the NFL draft until 2025.

"They're gonna come out (for the draft) the same year - next year," he said. "They better not try to leave Daddy this year, by the way."

Colorado had a disappointing first season under Deion, losing eight of their last nine games to finish 4-8. Shedeur put up impressive numbers, though, completing 69.3% of his passes for 3,230 yards - a Colorado single-season record - with 27 touchdowns and three interceptions.
