Xpad & cannot highlight

A weird one: I have an xpad note on my desktop for convenient copying and pasting some passwords. Well on PCLinuxOS I cannot highlight to copy. I can triple click and select copy, but get more than I want to copy. So in short can't drag cursor to highlight and copy.
