Suspend with Power button

This is happening with a PcLinuxos OS. In Power options I have "suspend" selected when power button is pressed. It does suspend but, on awakening it goes into shut down and have to boot up again. I did post this on Pclinuxos forum, but no replies as yet so trying here.
