The New York Giants activated tight end Darren Waller from injured reserve on Saturday ahead of their Week 15 matchup against the New Orleans Saints.

The 21-day practice window for Waller was activated this past week. He was a limited participant in Thursday and Friday's practice sessions and was listed as questionable in the team's final injury report.

Waller missed the last five games after sustaining a hamstring injury in Week 8.

The former Pro Bowler's impending return comes amid a crucial stretch for the Giants, who are currently in the hunt for a wild-card spot. New York's offense has been rejuvenated with the emergence of undrafted rookie quarterback Tommy DeVito.

Waller is in his first season with the Giants. He was acquired in a trade with the Las Vegas Raiders in March.

The Giants aren't expected to give Waller a full workload in his return to the field.

"Definitely what I want to do, and what I've been used to doing, is, like, 70-80 snaps a game," Waller said Wednesday, according to team reporter Dan Salamone.
