Falcons' Smith undecided on starting QB ahead of game vs. Colts

The Atlanta Falcons might be making another change at quarterback.

Falcons head coach Arthur Smith said Monday he's undecided on who'll be his starter for Sunday's game against the Indianapolis Colts, according to Michael Rothstein of ESPN.

Atlanta's playoff hopes took a major hit in Week 15 after losing 9-7 to the Carolina Panthers, who'd previously won just one game. The Falcons fell to 6-8 and now just have a 7% chance of making the postseason, according to The New York Times' playoff simulator.

Second-year quarterback Desmond Ridder struggled in the defeat, throwing for just 152 yards and one touchdown against one interception.

Ridder has already been benched once this season for Taylor Heinicke, who stepped in from Weeks 8-10 before ceding the job back to Ridder.

Smith is seemingly on the hot seat as he comes to the end of his third campaign in charge of the Falcons. The coach has gone 20-28 with zero playoff appearances or winning seasons.
