[SOLVED] Boot failure after kernel upgrade to 5.15.145 (Slackware-15.0)
by kgha from LinuxQuestions.org on (#6HD3W)
After today's kernel upgrade, booting kernel-generic fails with:
Code:No kernel modules found for Linux-5.15.145
mount: mounting /dev/sda5 on /mnt failed. No such device.
ERROR: No sbin/init found on rootdev (or not mounted), Trouble ahead
You can try to fix it. Type 'exit' when things are done.
/bin/sh can't access tty; job control turned offkernel-huge boots fine.
Reinstalled kernel-generic and kernel-modules downloaded from another mirror, no difference.
AAARRGH - forgot to upgrade initrd! On my laptop running-current, I've skipped the whole initrd business, but forgot that it's still needed in SLackware-15 (which I have installed on an old desktop, dual boot slackware/win10)
