Cannot mount phone filesystem - "Unable to open MTP device"
by murdo from LinuxQuestions.org on (#6HE8W)
As of very recently, I'm unable to mount my mobile phone filesystem on my PC, connected via USB. I used to be able to mount it with no issues. When I try in thunar now, however, I get the error message:
Code:Failed to mount "X70"
Unable to open MTP device "003,029"I'm on Slackware Current, fully up-to-date. I can mount other things, for example my external hard-drive, with no issues. I've checked with other cables and in other sockets on this computer and none were able to mount the phone, and I tried the phone on another computer and that did work, so I'm certain it's a software issue.
I'm not sure the exact date it started but it must have been one of the recent updates as the last files I successfully moved on to my phone have a datestamp of the 8th of December.
Does anyone have any ideas about the cause/potential fixes? Thanks in advance.
