The Pittsburgh Steelers will start quarterback Mason Rudolph for a second week Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks, head coach Mike Tomlin announced Friday, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Tomlin suggested Rudolph would likely get the nod earlier in the week but left the door open for Kenny Pickett - who is listed as questionable - to return. Pickett hasn't played since injuring his right ankle on Dec. 3.

Rudolph produced arguably the best game of his career in Week 16's win over the Cincinnati Bengals to help keep Pittsburgh in playoff contention. He completed 17 of 27 passes for 290 yards and two touchdowns while leading the AFC North club to a season-high 34 points.

The Steelers originally turned to Mitchell Trubisky after Pickett was injured but suffered two straight losses with the veteran at the helm.

Pickett said Wednesday that he felt his recovery was "on track" but he'll stick to the plan Pittsburgh set out for him, according to Teresa Varley of the team's official site.
