Trouble recording audio streams
by Flatulus Maximus from LinuxQuestions.org on (#6HJGZ)
I just reinstalled Mint on this PC and am having trouble recording audio streams. I have Audio Recorder, Pulse Audio Control, and Audacity installed. Here is the information about this machine's audio from System:
Audio:
Device-1: Intel 7 Series/C216 Family High Definition Audio vendor: Toshiba driver: snd_hda_intel
v: kernel bus-ID: 00:1b.0 chip-ID: 8086:1e20
Device-2: DisplayLink dynadock V3 type: USB driver: snd-usb-audio bus-ID: 3-3.1:3
chip-ID: 17e9:4313
Sound Server-1: ALSA v: k5.15.0-91-generic running: yes
Sound Server-2: PulseAudio v: 15.99.1 running: yes
Sound Server-3: PipeWire v: 0.3.48 running: yes
I have no problem playing mp3's, Spotify, YouTube, etc., but trying to record anything played results either in silence or unbearable noise. I've tried playing around with settings but nothing has worked so far. Can anyone suggest a fix?
