Report: Swift unlikely to play vs. Giants due to illness
Philadelphia Eagles running back D'Andre Swift isn't expected to suit up for the club's Week 18 contest against the New York Giants due to an illness, a source told NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.
Swift was listed as questionable.
The Eagles will win the NFC East if they take down the Giants and the Dallas Cowboys lose to or tie the Washington Commanders on Sunday.
Kenneth Gainwell is expected to handle the bulk of the team's carries against New York. Gainwell has 482 scrimmage yards and a pair of touchdowns this year.
Swift leads the Eagles with 1,049 yards to go along with five touchdowns on the ground. It's Swift's first 1,000-yard rushing season of his career. The 24-year-old has also contributed 39 receptions for 214 yards and a score.
Swift, who joined the Eagles via trade from the Detroit Lions this offseason, is slated to become a free agent at the end of the campaign.
