San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel was ruled out of his team's divisional-round win over the Green Bay Packers at the beginning of the second half due to a shoulder injury.

The star pass-catcher is slated for further tests Sunday to determine his status ahead of next week's NFC Championship Game, according to ESPN's Nick Wagoner.

Samuel took a hit in the first quarter and exited to be evaluated for a concussion. He was then cleared to return but left shortly after to be looked at for a shoulder injury. Samuel later returned to the sidelines in street clothes.

The 28-year-old told some members of the organization that he was "OK," sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Samuel suffered a hairline fracture in the same shoulder in Week 6 against the Cleveland Browns, forcing him to miss the next two contests.

"I don't know yet," coach Kyle Shanahan said when asked about Samuel's injury. "I mean he tried to come back (but) couldn't do it. I know he did something similar versus Cleveland."

Samuel has been a vital part of the 49ers' offense since being selected in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft. He has 1,117 total yards and 12 touchdowns this season.
