Who gives root password to telegram?

I installed telegram 4.10.2 from slackbuilds.org.

When I launch it as a regular user, it wants my root password:

Code:Authentication is needed to run `/home/papaz/.local/share/TelegramDesktop/tupdates/temp/Updater' as the super user
Authenticating as: root
Password:I did not supply it, as that seems contrary to keeping a device secure. Is that normal, to give root user password to some internet app?

Did telegram users really do this?

I suppose I need to run it in it's own container.
