xsane no longer detects network scanner
by drumz from LinuxQuestions.org on (#6JJZ9)
I'm on Slackware64 15.0.
Recently xsane started reporting "no devices available" when run as a normal user. It used to work (as of Jan 14th). I tried running as root and xsane works (after a scary warning).
"scanimage -L" works both as normal user and as root:
Code:$ scanimage -L
device `airscan:w0:Brother HL-L2380DW series' is a WSD Brother HL-L2380DW series ip=10.5.1.48I did recently change WiFi routers (from a Linksys running stock firmware to a pcwrt), but I don't think that has anything to do with it since xsane works as root.
I keep my kernel updated to the latest stable or LTS release (for now following current). So it's possible something changed in 6.6.y or even 6.5.y. But I haven't tried rolling back to an older kernel.
Any ideas on what could be the issue?
