Opinion: Videos should not be used in a web browser.
Drawbacks
A. slow page loading.
B. Mis-use/waste of bandwidth - slow web pages. (restreaming/downloading again)
C. High usage of ram.
D. Limiting hardware/Software support.
Video players are created to better deal with video drawbacks.
Benefits.
A. Don't redownload video as much, saving memory spaces.
B. Better video performance
C. Better technology support.
Not Covered in this opinion:
streaming, video downloading, P2P technologies such as torrent, webm etc.
