Tyreek: Idea of Dolphins trading Waddle is 'ludicrous'
Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill doesn't think the idea of his team trading wideout Jaylen Waddle makes any sense.
A trade idea involving Waddle went viral on social media after ESPN analyst Mike Tannenbaum - who served as the Dolphins' executive vice president of football operations from 2015-18 - suggested that Miami should send Waddle to the Kansas City Chiefs for All-Pro cornerback Trent McDuffie.
The hypothetical move clearly didn't sit well with Hill, who criticized it while praising Waddle in a series of tweets on Tuesday.
"He is better than I was at this point in his career, and for people in this fan base to want to trade him is ludicrous," Hill wrote.

The Dolphins acquired Hill from the Chiefs during the 2022 season, teaming up the All-Pro pass-catcher with Waddle to form one of the NFL's premier duos. Hill and Waddle each topped 1,000 yards in the last two seasons.
Hill, 29, led the league with 1,799 yards and 13 touchdown receptions in 2023. The 25-year-old Waddle, who topped the NFL with 18.1 yards per catch in 2022, has reached the 1,000-yard mark each year since he was drafted sixth overall in 2021.
Wide receiver production was an issue for the Chiefs in 2023, as Kansas City had the most dropped passes in the league. But rookie wideout Rashee Rice, tight end Travis Kelce, and Co. stepped up in the playoffs to help the team win its third Super Bowl in the Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid era, and its second straight championship since trading Hill to Miami.
The cornerback position - considered a potential need for the Dolphins this offseason - was a strength for Kansas City with McDuffie and L'Jarius Sneed headlining the depth chart. Miami rosters its own high-profile corners with Jalen Ramsey and Xavien Howard. However, Ramsey will turn 30 in 2024, while Howard will be 31. Howard could be a cap causality for the AFC East club, as the team would save $18.5 million in salary cap space by releasing him with a post-June 1 designation.
