For the second year in a row, the Bears are faced with a decision while holding the first-overall pick in the NFL Draft: Will they keep or trade Justin Fields?
Last year, the Bears dealt the top pick to the Panthers in exchange for a massive return that included wideout DJ Moore and two first-round picks.
Thanks to the Panthers' league-worst record in 2023, the Bears ended up with the No. 1 pick again. However, this year's situation is slightly different than last, with highly-touted prospect Caleb Williams likely sitting atop every team's draft board.
Fields only has one year remaining on his rookie contract, so a team has time to decide on a fifth-year option.
By now, Chicago should know what they have with Fields after three seasons. Oddsmakers at theScore Bet suggest the Bears will move on from their current signal-caller. They've priced the Bears as Fields' next team at +700, which equates to an implied probability of 12.5%.
Fields' next teamTeam | Odds |

The quarterback-needy Falcons are the odds-on favorite to make a deal for Fields. At -130, they have an implied probability of 56.5% to acquire the former Buckeye.
But what's more noteworthy is that the Falcons were +500 as of Tuesday, meaning there's been a drastic shift in odds in a short period.
The Steelers were the original favorites but have drifted after the big shift in odds for the Falcons.
The Patriots have the same odds of having Fields as their starting quarterback in 2024 as the Bears. New England is in rebuild mode without Bill Belichick and holds the No. 3 pick. The team may be content with taking whichever of the top three quarterback prospects - Williams, Drake Maye, Jayden Daniels - remains.
Expect these odds to change drastically as more rumors and reports circulate leading up to the draft.
