LINUX icon (penguin (?))disappeared from my Chromebook

Hello, I'm just an old lady with minimal tech skills so I thank you for your patience, in advance. I am using a 2023 Acer Spin 714 Chromebook. I had Linux installed since the beginning. I had apps that only loaded using Linux, too. I don't know if it's related but shortly after a recent update, the Linux icon disappeared, as well as the apps attached to it. I went into Settings >Advanced > Developers and where there used to be a toggle there was a statement saying Linux is not supported. Why, after using it would it suddenly not be supported? Searching the Chromebook Help community and the general internet was not much help. I did see one response (not recent) where it was said that a flag for the privacy sandbox v3 if enabled will remove Linux access. I've no idea what it means but I disabled the privacy sandbox v3 flag, restarted as directed and nothing changed. Does anyone know why Linux suddenly disappeared or how to get it back? I'm not a Developer. I use Linux as a way to download specific apps, for personal use like Google. Earth Pro, etc...
