The Philadelphia Flyers signed defenseman Nick Seeler to a four-year contract extension with an average annual value of $2.7 million, the team announced Wednesday.

The pact includes a full no-trade clause over the first two seasons, according to The Athletic's Chris Johnston.

Seeler was frequently mentioned as a trade candidate ahead of Friday's deadline, but the Flyers instead moved Sean Walker to the Colorado Avalanche earlier Wednesday.

Seeler's previous deal carried a $775,000 AAV. He earned a significant raise after finding a prominent role under head coach John Tortorella. The 30-year-old has 12 points in 63 games this season while averaging nearly 17 minutes per contest. He leads the NHL with 184 blocked shots.
