A United Airlines flight headed for Japan landed safely at Los Angeles International airport after losing a tyre mid-air following takeoff from San Francisco. United said it was arranging for a new aircraft to continue the trip for the 249 people who were onboard the Boeing B777-200. The tyre landed in the airport's staff carpark, smashing a window and damaging at least one car
