Report: Henry returning to Pats on 3-year, $30M deal
The Patriots and tight end Hunter Henry agreed to a new three-year deal worth up to $30 million for the pending free agent to return to New England, Mike Garafolo and Ian Rapoport of NFL Network report.
The veteran's contract reportedly has a base value of $27 million.
Henry was viewed as the top tight end set to hit the open market after the Houston Texans retained Dalton Schultz on a reported three-year, $36-million deal.
The 29-year-old Henry put together a solid third season in New England in 2023, producing 42 catches for 419 yards and six touchdowns despite inconsistent quarterback play.
He had a combined 1,112 yards and 13 scores in his first two years with the Patriots after signing as a free agent in 2021 following five seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers.
Noah Fant, Gerald Everett, and Mike Gesicki will now headline a weak crop of free-agent tight ends.
