Turning off notifications
by Completely Clueless from LinuxQuestions.org on (#6K7RZ)
Hi all,
For some reason, I'm now starting to get notifications I don't need and don't want. This is - I don't know the technical term for it - the horizontal strip right at the bottom of the screen. It has a ringing bell symbol on it. It's now informing me of all this celebrity drivel I can't stand to hear about. I've tried all sort of settings to get it to stop, but it keeps on sending me this garbage nevertheless. How do I get rid of it without blocking legitimate alerts like security updates and whatnot?
Many thanks,
CD.
PS: it seems to be something to do with Firefox if that helps at all.
