The Philadelphia Eagles are signing safety Reed Blankenship to a one-year extension through 2025, the team announced Monday.

With the new deal, Blankenship will receive $3.935 million over the next two seasons, sources told NFL Network's Mike Garafolo. He can also reportedly earn an extra $1.375 million in incentives.

Blankenship started 15 games for the Eagles last year, racking up 113 tackles, three interceptions, 11 passes defended, and a fumble recovery.

The 25-year-old's production and 89% defensive snap share were huge improvements on his rookie campaign: He totaled 34 tackles and one interception in 10 games as a first-year player in 2022.

Blankenship earned an extra $923,059 for his efforts in 2023 thanks to the performance-based pay program, per NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. His payout was the second-highest in the league, trailing only Baltimore Ravens guard John Simpson. The fund awards players relative to their playing time and salary.

Blankenship, C.J. Gardner-Johnson, and Sydney Brown are expected to lead the Eagles' safeties in snaps next season.
