The Los Angeles Chargers are signing former Baltimore Ravens running back J.K. Dobbins to a one-year contract, his agency told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Dobbins reacted to the news on social media Wednesday:

Let's do it #LaVuelta

The Ravens drafted Dobbins in the second round in 2020. Though the Ohio State product flashed his potential in Baltimore, multiple injuries kept him sidelined long term in recent years. After playing 15 games as a rookie, the 25-year-old missed the entire 2021 season because of a torn ACL. Knee ailments then limited him to only eight appearances in 2022 before he sustained a year-ending Achilles injury in Week 1 in 2023.

Dobbins rushed for 805 yards and nine touchdowns as a rookie and has averaged 5.8 yards per carry in 234 career rushing attempts.

The Chargers - who let running back Austin Ekeler sign with the Washington Commanders this offseason - revamped their offense in 2024 after hiring Jim Harbaugh as head coach and Greg Roman as offensive coordinator. Los Angeles also signed running back Gus Edwards, who scored 13 touchdowns with the Ravens last year. Dobbins and Edwards worked in Roman's run-heavy scheme for multiple seasons in Baltimore.

Establishing a solid run game around quarterback Justin Herbert is one of the Chargers' main challenges this season. Los Angeles ranked 24th in rushing yards in 2023, the team's 16th straight year outside the top 10 in that category.
