Buffalo Bills general manager Brandon Beane said Saturday that he doesn't anticipate his team making a blockbuster trade despite recent speculation.

"The cap is the cap. There's no trade coming. I know everyone wants to link us to every trade in the league," Beane said, according to Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic.

The Bills have strongly been linked to multiple star players since trading wide receiver Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans this offseason. The San Francisco 49ers reportedly shopped wideouts Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel to move up in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft on Thursday, and the Bills were apparently among the teams interested in Samuel.

Buffalo has also been rumored as a potential destination for Tee Higgins, who requested a trade from the Cincinnati Bengals after receiving the franchise tag this year.

Beane and Co. did make a move in the 2024 draft, trading out of Round 1 after entering the event with the No. 28 selection. The Bills then addressed their need at wide receiver by taking Keon Coleman with the first pick of the second round, 33rd overall.

"There was some (receivers) that we talked about coming up to our pick," Beane said when explaining why Buffalo didn't draft more than one pass-catcher in 2024, according to Matt Parrino of NYup.com. "But at the time of our pick, we felt there was a bigger need when you were looking across the board. There were a couple of opportunities to take a receiver or take whatever we took, but we just felt those positions were bigger needs when we took them."

Coleman is now part of a wide receiver depth chart that also features Khalil Shakir and recently signed Curtis Samuel, among others.
