Burrow returns to practice following wrist surgery
The Cincinnati Bengals were impressed by star quarterback Joe Burrow on Monday as they began the second phase of their offseason program.
"He didn't miss a beat," receiver Kwamie Lassiter said, according to team reporter Geoff Hobson. "Whatever he did in the offseason worked."
Burrow, the 2020 first overall pick, tore a wrist ligament in his throwing hand during a Week 11 matchup against the Baltimore Ravens. The ailment ended his 2023 campaign, and the Bengals missed out on a playoff spot after posting a 9-8 record.
"I think he looked as quick and as athletic as I've seen him look," quarterbacks coach Brad Kragthorpe said after the one-hour workout. "He looked like the Joe Burrow we're used to seeing. I didn't see any difference. I thought the ball came out of his hand well, confidently. I'm happy where he's at."
The 27-year-old passer, who was also hampered by a calf injury last season, was able to throw with plenty of velocity and power as he took a couple deep shots down the field during the throwing session.

Burrow passed for 2,309 yards, 15 touchdowns, and six interceptions, with a 66.8% completion rate in 10 games last season.
The LSU alum appears to be in line with his projected recovery timeline after saying in March that he expected to resume full throwing sessions during the team's OTAs.
