A rematch of the AFC Championship Game will open the NFL regular season.

The 2024 campaign kicks off with the Kansas City Chiefs hosting the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday, Sept. 5, the NFL announced Monday. The matchup will begin at 8:20 p.m. ET, and NBC is broadcasting the contest.

The highly anticipated matchup is the first of several marquee games announced ahead of Wednesday night's full 2024 schedule release.

The Chiefs defeated the Ravens 17-10 in the AFC title game in January to punch their ticket to Super Bowl LVIII. Baltimore entered the contest as the No. 1 seed, but its high-powered offense failed to score another touchdown following a first-quarter TD pass by Lamar Jackson.

The Chiefs went on to win Super Bowl LVIII against the San Francisco 49ers.

Patrick Mahomes holds the edge over Jackson in head-to-head matchups, with the Chiefs quarterback owning a 4-1 record (including playoffs) over the Ravens.
