Browns to host Cowboys in Week 1 in Brady's TV debut
The Dallas Cowboys will kick off their 2024 season on the road against the Cleveland Browns on Sept. 8 at 4:25 p.m. ET, the teams announced Monday.
The matchup will air on Fox and mark Tom Brady's broadcasting debut. The seven-time Super Bowl champion recently joined the TV network as its lead NFL analyst on a reported 10-year, $375-million contract.
"I love covering (the Cowboys)," Brady said. "I've been obviously going against them for a long time, and now I get to tell everyone how great they are."

The game will feature star players on both sides of the ball, including Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett and Micah Parsons. Garrett was named DPOY last season over Parsons, who's now ranked in the top three for that award each year since entering the NFL as a first-round pick in 2021.
The contest also includes an interesting battle between quarterbacks, as Dak Prescott enters the final year of his contract with Dallas and Deshaun Watson returns for Cleveland after missing the final eight games of the 2023 season due to a shoulder injury.
"It's exciting to be able to open the season at home," Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski said. "Last year's home opener was electric, and we expect the same atmosphere. We feed off our fans' energy and I am sure there will be a little extra juice from them with this being the first one of the 2024 season. The Cowboys are the defending NFC East champs, so it will be a great challenge and we are looking forward to it."
The Browns and Cowboys last faced off in 2020, with Cleveland claiming a 49-38 road victory.
This is the second game for the 2024 NFL season announced before Wednesday's full schedule release. Looking for a historic Super Bowl three-peat, the Kansas City Chiefs will kick off the new campaign at home versus the Baltimore Ravens on Sept. 5.
