[SOLVED] seems like logrotate didn't run
by j12i from LinuxQuestions.org on (#6N3RM)
Hi,
the recent ntp update got me to look into /var/log/, and I saw /var/log/messages hadn't been rotated since February, others too. It was 40 MB in size...
I ran /etc/cron.daily/logrotate and it was rotated. /var/log/cron(.1 now) indicates that cron ran daily. So why wasn't the rotation done?
`grep logrotate /var/log/messages.1` came up empty.
