Premier Steven Miles announces expansion of free school breakfast program to lunch as cost-of-living crisis bites

The Queensland government will serve up free school lunches to some students as part of a pre-election policy roundly criticised by the Greens as not going far enough.

Just days after a promise to slash transport fares to 50 cents for a six-month period, the premier, Steven Miles, announced a plan to spend $15m on the school and community food relief program to expand the state's existing free school breakfast program to lunches.
