Restored Timeshift to a new device - Was that foolish?
by TaoMao from LinuxQuestions.org on (#6N8HW)
Ubuntu 22-04lts
Wanted to have same system settings and transfer files to a new laptop. Higher spec, different model.
old system: 16GB i7-6600U CPU 2.60GHz
new system: 64GB i7-10th 5.1GHz
First boot Ubuntu was freezing and extremely slow. Dawned on me that as it is a new system the same configurations probably wouldn't work on a different model and spec laptop.
Second boot everything seems to be working fine now, software is loading quicker now, but when I click 'settings' it takes about 7 seconds to load, where as it was 2 before. Wondering if I have made a big error here.
1) Is there any modifications / checks I can do?
2) If the timeshift was was a bad idea. Is there a proper way export the old system onto a new system?
