Laptop can not boot external M.2 usb enclosure
by intmail01 from LinuxQuestions.org on (#6NDXH)
Hi,
I use Lenovo laptop and it can not boot an external usb M.2 enclosure. When I press the F12 bios option then 'USB HDD' is in the list. When I select it , the display come back to the same bios screen and nothing happen.
What happen and what to do to boot with external M.2 drive in this machine ?
An usb key device boots well with this machine. The configuration is the same between the key and the M.2 but this latter doesnt boot.
I try the M.2 enclosure with a desktop machine and it can boot perfectly.
I use Linux Slackware 15 OS with grub2 bootloader. The partition is GPT but as far as I remember I never install any UEFI options on my systems.
Thanks
