[SOLVED] Alsa Configuration?

I'm still running your slackware build of 20230910 with kernel-6.5.2, which is working well.
I watched a video on it last night. I tried to watch another, but I had no sound. No amount of fiddling, rebooting or tweaking would give me sound. Alsamixer gave me the standard middle finger "No adjustable controls here" type of message. I've pulled the disk and restored a known good backup from last Febuary Code:sudo rsync -avc --delete /path/to/backup /path/to/disk/in case that helps, but what can you do when apparently, nothing is wrong? Can a video screw up the settings? My pi itself is one of the older ones, getting on for 5 years old, but it leads an easy life.
