Wifi won't work on 21.1/Dell 1490 wireless

Got upgraded to 21.1 and all works except the wifi(did work on 20.3). Wifi card is Dell 1490 BCM4311. Linux does have b43-fwcutter and firmware-b43-installer, however during install, it says it wont work BUT has found one that will and tries to connect endlessly to lwfinger.com which it never reaches. So either the site or solution doesn't work. Spent hours looking for solutions and so far nothing except as a last resort, once again going back to 20.3?
