Upgrade from 15 to 15-current
by nugax from LinuxQuestions.org on (#6NWGA)
I have seen all kinds of info on this topic but nothing I read seems to work.
My question is: How do you *PROPERLY* update from a fresh ISO install of Slackware 15 to Slackware 15-Current?
I ran these two commands following a guide and it broke glibc (as usual)
sudo slackpkg install-new
sudo slackpkg upgrade-all
The mirror I added was a current mirror and I did run slackpkg update after selecting.
It upgraded many packages (evidently failing to update glibc) then errors on most ending packages failing due
to glibc 2.34 not installed. As you may know, Slack15 comes with 2.33 glibc, which doesnt work with most current linux packages.
Just looking for good info on how to upgrade. I DID backup my server prior to trying updating, so I can easily try again.
Thanks in advance!
