Formatted Drives and Setup RAID as a different administrator
by UncleRicky from LinuxQuestions.org on (#6NXYB)
I had made an abortive attempt to setup Ubuntu Server 22.04 on /dev/sda, but during the setup successfully created a two-drive RAID array with /dev/sdc and /dev/sdd; the raid array appears to be /dev/md0p1. There is no data on the drives.
After I failed to get Ubuntu Server up an running, I installed Debian 12 over the Ubuntu install (formatting the disk /sda).
I'm still having difficulty figuring out Debian and setting up Samba, and I see what happened (I think) is that I used "Richard" as the username during the Ubuntu install, and "Ricky" when I later installed Debian. I don't know for sure, but I'm wondering if some of the difficulties I'm having mounting the raid array is because I don't 'own' it (if that makes sense), and how I can fix this. I'd rather keep researching and trying to figure out what to do here, rather than get out the bootable USB and start at square 1, which seems lazy.
What do you think; any advice here?
