PulseAudio on MXLinux is not saving any changes after shutdown and not allowing me to rename devices
by PlusNine from LinuxQuestions.org on (#6NZ6Y)
Hello everyone! I have a very interesting issue here with a fresh MX Linux install. I'm wondering how I can have PulseAudio save my settings after I shut down? And how can I rename devices in the application? I get an error message saying I need to "load module-device-manager in the PulseAudio server", but changing default.pa does nothing. What is going on here? I would like to be able to change these things easily
Edit: It seems like alsactl is completely locked out for me. I try to use *alsactl store* to store new settings, and I get the error message; "alsactl: state_lock:167: file /var/lib/alsa/asound.state lock error: Permission denied". Why is this the default setting? It seems to prevent any sort of saving to the file
