Modem in bridged mode to IPFire - Not getting static IP to IPFire
by sunils1973 from LinuxQuestions.org on (#6P1JC)
I have a genexis platinum 4410 fibre modem through which I am getting internet through pppoe credentials.
Now I want to use this mode in bridged modem to connect to a linux computer having IPFire installed with the this pppoe connection as red (WAN interface of IPfire) and the other interface of the computer as green (LAN). However, after putting the modem from route mode to bridge mode and turning off the dhcp server on the modem and restart, i am not getting the static IP address to the red0 interface of the computer. The pppoe username and passwords are submitting through the web interface accessed of another computer connected to the green (LAN) of the router computer (IPFire).
Modem - genexis platinum 4410 - pppoe
Router - Desktop ( IPFire )
INterfaces red0 - WAN, green - LAN
Is there any other steps when a modem is used in bridged mode for a linux router?
