Prior to joining the Carolina Panthers in 2023, veteran receiver Adam Thielen expressed interest in signing with the Kansas City Chiefs.

The interest apparently wasn't mutual, though.

"Well, I was trying to go there and they didn't want me so I'll have to try to show them what I got," Thielen told Starcade Media at a celebrity golf event in Nevada.

Thielen spent the first nine seasons of his career with the Minnesota Vikings. He evolved into a primary contributor for the Vikings, earning back-to-back Pro Bowl nods in 2017 and 2018.

The Minnesota State product hit free agency after the 2022 campaign signed a three-year, $25-million contract with the Panthers in March 2023.

The 33-year-old Thielen emerged as a go-to option in Carolina's passing game as rookie Bryce Young acclimated to the pro level. He led all Panthers pass-catchers with 103 receptions and 1,014 yards, adding four touchdowns.

Carolina acquired receivers Diontae Johnson and Xavier Legette this offseason to improve an offense that finished last in the league in total yards (265.3) and points (13.9). Still, Thielen is expected to remain a key contributor for the Panthers as a slot receiver in 2024.

Thielen will have an opportunity to prove his worth against the Chiefs on Nov. 24 when the Panthers host the reigning champions in Week 12.
