SCENIC CITY TRIO EXCEL WITH TEAM ONTARIO
The Team Ontario under-17 squad finished with a perfect 4-0 record at the two-day MidAtlantic Summer Club Championships in Edgewood, Maryland this past weekend. Three Sound North Stars Junior Elite Women's Lacrosse (JEWL) team members, Bree Wilkins, Taryn Weppler and head coach Lyndsay Brooks, are with Team Ontario. Team Ontario started day one with a 7-4 victory over Central Lacrosse 2026 (Boston) and then an 11-5 win against Stars 2026 (Virginia). Team Ontario picked up two more wins on Sunday defeating Saltwater 2026 (Maryland) 9-6 and the Atlanta Storm 2026, 12-2. Weppler had a standout game on defence versus Saltwater 2026 and was named player of the game. This is the second straight tournament where Team Ontario has gone undefeated. The provincial squad posted a 4-0 record at the MidWeek Confidential Tournament just outside Philadelphia earlier in the week. Wilkins, Weppler and Brooks will be with their North Stars JEWL team on Tuesday when they play the Oakville Lady Hawks in their second of three round-robin playoff games.
