Ubuntu slow FTP transfer
by theyikes from LinuxQuestions.org on (#6PAQQ)
Hello!! I have a quick question re: FTP speeds. I have an ubuntu pc running vsftpd. I can setup up the users and account, that part was easy.
My ubuntu pc is connected via cable to my router but my laptop is wiFi. Again this is easy, i can ftp in from windows on my laptop but the download speeds are shocking bad.
A 1.6 GB file takes almost 10-15 minutes to transfer.
Is there any settings in the vsftpd.conf file i can mod to speed things up.
i was wondering if i connected the laptop with a cable instead of wirelessly
any advice would be great.
