Programmable Macro Keyboards

Hi:
Has anyone used one of the variety of USB attached programmable mini-keypads? Although there's a wide variety available, the particular one I'm interested in (12 keys) can be seen at: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BBS3D3JV/?c ... t_im&th=1
If so, how did you "program" the individual keys under Linux? I'm assuming that the software provided with most of these units runs only under Windows and, due to lack of HID (Human Interface Device) support in wine, won't be "seen" in Linux. This particular model (and a few others) claims to permit programming via a browser, though the recommended choices seem to be limited to Edge, Chrome and Opera, since Firefox isn't keen on adding HID support for "security" reasons.
There seems to be a flatpak version of Opera available, but it isn't clear if the Flatpak version supports HID either, and I don't want to have two native browsers installed.
Going the hwdb modification route is not ideal, as I'd be unable to move the device from machine to machine without setting that up on each one, which seems more trouble than it's worth.
If it makes any difference, I'm using LMDE with Cinnamon.
Does anyone have any thoughts, opinions, or suggestions? Thanks in advance.
