How to write a driver for a laptop soundcard?
by seroquel from LinuxQuestions.org on (#6PC73)
I checked my hardware compatibility on linux-hardware.com, and it shows that absolutely every distro doesn't work with that soundcard, BUT kernel supports it many many years. Maybe i misunderstood something, but is it possible to make then the driver myself or something to make it work? I didn't find any single tutorial on creating drivers, so some sort of guide or advice on how to at least start would be really nice and helpful. The thing is that Linux correctly detects the AMD Radeon high definition soundcard, can regulate sound level, but there is no actual sound and no detection of the aux wired headphones. The configuration files look fine, like everything looks fine, but still issues persist. If it's important than i tested it on Ubuntu, Arch, Endeavour, Garuda. None of them had sound. Oh and the last thing, the card is perfectly working on windows, so it's a linux problem 100%.
p.s. it's not a random idea, I tried to fix this problem for almost a year, so referring to banal things like "reinstall pipewire" is not really a valid answer. No matter what absolutely no solution on the internet helped. Thank you for understanding.
