This is totally incorrect. There is nothing wrong with Linux Mint 22.
The only thing that is wrong is following the above Linux Mint 21.3 to Linux Mint 22 in-situ upgrade guide.
I have always maintained that it is much safer to to do a fresh installation, whilst retaining the existing Home folder when either:
(a) moving from one distro version to another or
(b) moving from one distro to a different one.
For Legacy boot:

For UEFI boot:

I actually used the Linux Mint 22 Beta version initially and I had no problems with it.
In my case it was possible to move seamlessly to Linux Mint 22 Stable simply by applying the updates as they arrived.
Some may describe that as an in-situ upgrade, but the key difference is that I was already running Linux Mint 22 Beta NOT Linux Mint 21.3.
The two scenarios are completely different.
I was moving within the same version of Linux Mint (22).
The "upgrade guide" above features a move from Linux Mint 21.3 to Linux Mint 22 (i.e. two different versions of Linux Mint).
