Using same cable as worked with old phone. New phone no longer does.
Have tried another cable, same result.

Linux Mint 20.3, Oppo ph. Android File Transfer says no MTP device found.

lsusb doesn't show phone anymore. Used to. Phone is enabled to do this and it used to work, although I had to fiddle between photo and normal file transferring to make it do it.

Now, zilch.

lsusb:
Bus 002 Device 005: ID 04f9:0339 Brother Industries, Ltd DCP-J4120DW

Bus 002 Device 004: ID 18f8:0f97 [Maxxter]

Bus 002 Device 003: ID 045e:0768 Microsoft Corp. Sidewinder X4

Bus 002 Device 002: ID 8087:0020 Intel Corp. Integrated Rate Matching Hub

Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub

Bus 001 Device 002: ID 8087:0020 Intel Corp. Integrated Rate Matching Hub

Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub

Rebooted both. Updated PC. Tried assorted apps suggested, none see phone anymore.

What's happened? Note I am not terribly experienced with Linux, can copy - paste commands but understanding them? Not so much.
